American Idol season 10 contestant and Interscope recording artist Pia Toscano showed up for her unofficial job as the Los Angeles Kings’ playoffs performer tonight (June 6) at the Staples Center. The singer, wearing a LA Kings jersey, took the ice for a performance of the National Anthem at game four of the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoff finals between the Kings and the New Jersey Devils.
Pia sounded just fantastic while performing the “Star Spangled Banner” but that was no real surprise. The star was a standout during her season of Idol and she’s had lots of practice with the National Anthem lately. She’s performed at practically every playoff game involving the Kings, being affectionately referred to as the team’s goodluck charm.
Outside of performing and slaying the National Anthem, things seem to be at a standstill for Pia’s debut album. Fans have even voiced their concerns in an open letter to Interscope on one of Pia’s biggest fansites.
