Performing on the big American Idol stage may be over for season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez but now that the show’s over, she’s on to bigger and better stages. Or courts in this case. The Idol alum took to the center of the basketball court to serenade the crowd and players with the National Anthem during game one of the NBA finals between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder tonight (June 12).
Like her many AI performances, Jessica showed off her strong vocals while keeping the adlibs nice and controlled. She even threw in a few stunning high notes. Top notch stuff for any performer–and she’s only a teen.
Jessica came in in second place on season 11 of American Idol, which wrapped with a star-studded finale last month. Taking first place was soft rock singer Phillip Phillips.
So who is Jessica rooting for? “Im all about thunder tonight! ;),” she said on Twitter.” Watch the performance below.
