Taylor Swift‘s brand new single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” has given her a lot to celebrate today. The track becomes the country-pop superstar’s very first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Billboard reports. Previously, Swift peaked at No. 2 on the chart with her hits “You Belong With Me” and “Today Was A Fairytale.”
“Never Ever” also posts the highest one-week sales sum for a single by a female artist in Billboard history. The track raked in 623,000 digital copies in its debut week, crushing the previous record held by Ke$ha‘s “Tik Tok” (610,000 copies). (“Never Ever” sits behind only Flo Rida‘s “Right Round” for the overall record. The rapper’s track sold 636,000 copies in one week back in 2009.)
“We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is the first single from Taylor’s highly-anticipated fourth album, Red, due out October 22.
