Video: Christina Aguilera Honored With Special Achievement Award At 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera doesn’t just use her voice to judge others on NBC’s hit reality singing competition show “The Voice.” And she doesn’t just use her voice to record smoking hot music like her new single “Your Body.” She also uses her voice to make an impact with causes that matter. Because of this drive to uplift others, Xtina was named “the voice of a generation” and honored with a special achievement award at the 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards. The awards show aired tonight (September 21) on NBC.

“I learned early on that having a voice isn’t as impactful as actually using the voice that you have. Throughout my career, I’ve tried to drive that point home,” Xtina said while accepting her award.

The special achievement award wasn’t the only trophy Christina walked away with at the ALMA Awards. She also won the award for “Favorite TV Reality, Variety or Comedy Personality or Act” for her work on The Voice.

On the musical front, Aguliera will return with her highly anticipated new album, “Lotus,” on November 13. Watch Xtina’s full acceptance speech below.
