Video: Carrie Underwood Covers Coldplay’s “Fix You” For ‘VH1 Unplugged’

Carrie Underwood – VH1

Many have tried, but most have failed to deliver a passable cover of Coldplay‘s tender classic ‘Fix You.” But the moment Carrie Underwood began her cover, we knew it was going to be something wonderful. And, boy, did she not disappoint. The American Idol alum and country superstar in her own right put a twangy twist on the ballad and showcased the phenomenal range of her voice during her spectacular cover, which was taped for an episode of VH1 Unplugged.

Carrie first laid her gorgeous pipes on “Fix You” during a concert in Coldplay’s backyard, London’s Royal Albert Hall. But something about this time — maybe it was this intimate setting — made her performance even more special.

Carrie’s entire episode of Unplugged will air on October 2 at 7pm EST on VH1, but you can swoon over her beautiful rendition of “Fix You” below:

  1. Wow! I am a huge Coldplay fan and have also heard MANY botched attempts to do a cover of Fix You.

This is absolutely the best version I have heard other than Coldplay. The two keys are she didn’t try to over sing the song and also she has incredible god gifted talent.
