New Music: Preview Adele’s James Bond Theme Song, “Skyfall”

The rumors are true. Adele will sing the theme song to the new James Bond flick, Skyfall.

A preview of the track, titled “Skyfall,” has hit the internet, giving fans just a taste of what the long-rumored and highly-anticipated song has in store. On the snippet, we hear Adele’s haunting vocals coo “Let the sky fall/When it crumbles, we will stand tall and face it all together.”

Of course it sounds like it’s going to be good. It’s Adele. When has she ever delivered anything that isn’t good? Still, Adele wanted to make certain she could make a good song before agreeing to book the legendary gig. “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall,” she said in a statement. “There’s a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song.  But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I’ve never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I’m 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I’m sure!”

“Skyfall” will premiere in full at — get this — 0:07 London time on October 5, which works out to 7:07pm EST on October 4 in the states. Until then, listen to the preview below.
