The feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey has spilled over from the American Idol auditions to The View and Twitter.
This morning (October 4), The View co-host Barbara Walters received a call from MiMi about the spat with Nicki. Reading from her notes on the call, Walters said that Mariah claimed to have heard Nicki say “if I had a gun, I would shoot [this] b*tch” when Nicki left the Idol audition. Mariah said that staff members, producers, and hairdresses on Idol all heard the threat. Walters went on to say that Mariah “is very concerned,” doesn’t “feel comfortable emotionally,” and has hired extra security because “Nicki is unpredictable.”
Word of Mariah’s statements got back to Nicki, and all hell broke loose on the rapper’s Twitter timeline. “The struggle to be a victim is real in these streets…The struggle to not have the kid on the show is real in these streets,” Nicki tweeted. “Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she’s a black rapper. Lmao. I’ll then hit up Barbara n milk it.”
Nicki denied the gun threat ever happen, adding, “Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz.”
Nicki continued her rant against Mariah, calling her statements “lies” and chalking them up to Mariah’s “insecurity.”
“I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we’ve had since simon,” Nicki tweeted. “Awww, poor u … I thought we resolved it yesterday but I see u want ur pity party to continue … All I do is compliment u. That’s not enuff? Ur a legend, cheer up. U don’t have to run down ur resume or feel intimidated. Shady McGrady.”
