Album Preview: Rihanna – Unapologetic

Rihanna is unapologetically hood, pop, in love, vulnerable, boastful, and crazy on her new album, Unapologetic. Snippets of the set have hit the net, and they reveal the wide array of sounds and emotions RiRi makes no apologies for expressing on her seventh album. RiRi spits like a rapper on the opening track “Phresh Out The Runaway” (“How could you be so hood, but be so f*cking pop?”), boasts about her badassness in “Pour It Up” (“Valet costs a hundred bills/Gold all up in my grill/Who cares how you haters feel/Call Jay up and close the deal”), beckons her man to the bedroom in “Loveeeeeee Song” (“Say my name, boy/Let me know I’m in control”), sings an ooey, gooey proclamation of everlasting love with Chris Brown on “Nobodies Business” (“It ain’t nobody’s business/Just mine and my baby”) and puts her island roots on display on “No Love Allowed” (“I’m screaming murderer/How could you murder us?/I call it murder/No love allowed”).
