Mr. Entertainment will entertain no more…at least on the X Factor USA. The first contestant to receive the boot because of America’s vote on last night’s (November 9) live results show (featuring performances from X Factor UK heartthrobs One Direction) was L.A. Reid‘s over 25s singer Jason Brock.
Brock received the boot after it was revealed that he and young adults singer CeCe Frey polled the lowest amount of votes from America. After singing for their lives–CeCe performing “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” and Jason singing “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” judges Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell and L.A.’s even votes sent the results into deadlock. This, of course, meant that the decision would be totally up to America and the singer was sent packing with the least amount of votes scored.
“I want to say I did it for the gays and Japan,” Jason said with a laugh. “But I’m really happy to have been here.”
The action wasn’t over there. For the first time in X Factor history, the rankings for each act were revealed. With CeCe Frey obviously being at the bottom, fans found out that Arin Ray was next in line with the lowest amount of votes. Surprisingly, the top two was comprised of teen singer Carly Rose Sonenclar (not surprising) and country singer Tate Stevens with Tate actually being in the lead.
The new top 12 are:
Teens – Mentored by Britney Spears
- Carly Rose Sonenclar
- Beatrice Miller
- Arin Ray
- Diamond White
Young Adults – Mentored by Demi Lovato

- Paige Thomas
