Jennel Garcia – Fox
The drama was high on the X Factor USA as two singers were given the boot on last night’s (November 15) live results show.
The first act to be eliminated for the night was Simon Cowell‘s rap group Lyric145. The threesome, who originally auditioned as two separate acts, received the lowest amount of votes and were immediately removed from the competition. They received harsh–yet appropriate–criticism for their performances from judge L.A. Reid week to week, ranging from “that’s not hip hop” to a simple “I hated it.”
With Lyric145 gone, the real drama came down to the next lowest polling singers as they’d have to sing for their lives. Unfortunately for judge Demi Lovato, they both came from her young adults team. Singer Paige Thomas and– somewhat shockingly– Jennel Garcia were up for elimination and performed (both poorly) to impress the judges. With all the judges but her own voting against her, pop/rock singer Jennel Garcia was given the hook.
Like last week, the rankings for the remaining singers were revealed. Britney Spears‘ teen singer Arin Ray remained low on the list while Lovato’s CeCe Frey shot up multiple spots due to her improved (but still shaky) performance this week. The top two singers, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Tate Stevens, also remained the same from the previous week.
The top 10 acts will perform next Wednesday with the results show falling on Thanksgiving day.
