Adam Levine displayed a kind of uncharacteristically harsh side of himself on last night’s (November 26) live performance episode of The Voice when offering a critique of fan-favorite Cassadee Pope‘s performance of Michelle Branch‘s “Are You Happy Now.”
Levine recalled opening for Branch at West Hollywood’s famed venue The Roxy and receiving some not-too-hot accommodations. “We used to open for Michelle Branch–I remember we opened for her at The Roxy and they didn’t even give us a dressing room,” Adam said. “I hate The Roxy. I’ll never play there again.”
Looking a bit uncomfortable, Cassadee replied “I love The Roxy” but Adam wasn’t done dragging the venue. “The Roxy’s horrible. Don’t ever go there.” After getting some jeers from the crowd, he continued on. “They screwed us over, what? And now they’re paying for it.”
The club (or at least their social media representative) was taken aback, asking the pop star what that was all about in a tweet. To try and make things right, they decided to dedicate their dressing room to the Maroon 5 frontman and posted a little photo as proof. “We have officially named our dressing room after @AdamLevine ;) #teamroxy #thevoice,” the company said along with a picture of the club’s marquee that said “Adam Levine your dressing room is ready.”
So far, Adam has made no mention of wanting to use his new dressing room.
