The Voice Results: Christina Aguilera Left Teamless As Dez Duron Is Eliminated

It was a shocking and sad elimination night on The Voice’s live results show last night (November 27). Two great singers received the boot, leaving one coach without a team. So who went home?

Christina Aguilera‘s last man standing, Dez Duron, was cut from the show in a double elimination. Although Duron did not give his best performance on this week’s live top eight performance show (Dez performed a crooner version of Justin Bieber‘s “U Smile“), the results were still surprising as he’s given remarkable performances in the past.

“Sending love & respect for @DezDuron!!,” Christina said on Twitter not long after the results were revealed. “You were amazing on #TheVoice & your journey is only beginning. #TeamXtina family always!”

Dez, as you might recall, originally auditioned in season two of the hit reality singing competition. After singing a Backstreet Boys song, not one coach turned their chairs for him although Xtina expressed regret soon after his departure. He re-auditioned for season three with a smoldering performance of “Sara Smile” and was able to impress three coaches, ultimately choosing Team Xtina.

“Thank you for taking this journey with me. I learned so much on #TheVoice,” Duron tweeted. “This is just the beginning. #TeamDez #bestisyettocome”

Dez wasn’t the only act getting a pink slip. Team Cee-Lo Green lost his first act: pop/soul singer Cody Belew. Belew went out on a high note, giving a rousing performance of Queen‘s “Somebody To Love” during the top eight performance show.

The top 6 singers are:

Team Adam Levine: Melanie Martinez, Amanda Brown

Team Blake Shelton: Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope

Team Cee-Lo Green: Nicholas David, Trevin Hunte

  1. I think the way Christina acted toward the other contestants was the reason Dez didn’t get the votes he needed. She was arrogant, condescending, and negative overall in her evaluation of their performances. America hates a star with an attitude against amateurs…. they were turned off and didn’t vote for her guy!

    • This fact have to side the one for the Xtina Fan like me and the others who hates her like you. Personnaly I just think that saying she’s arrogant, condescending and negative it’s dont know who’s really Chistina Aguilera. And why do we have to blam Christina? Why it’s not the fault of America it’s our choice this time not her choice.
