Another week of results, another coach left without a team on season three of The Voice. The latest victim? One-time winner Adam Levine.
The Maroon 5 frontman lost his entire remaining team on last night’s (December 4) live results show episode as it was revealed that singers Amanda Brown and Melanie Martinez received the lowest amount of votes from America and would be going home.
“Congrats @MelanieLBBH and @amanda__brown for being one of the six winners on that stage,” Adam said to his former acts on Twitter. “I love you both!!!”
Levine joins fellow coach Christina Aguilera in the “no team” circle. Xtina lost her final singer, crooner Dez Duron, just last week.
Melanie and Amanda were both underdogs in the competition. Melanie surprised viewers week to week by making it through to the next rounds–even admitting herself that she never thought she would make it this far. Amanda, as you may recall, originally started out on Team Cee-Lo Green. After an impressive showdown with Trevin Hunte during the battle rounds, she was eliminated but quickly stolen by Levine. Green affectionately referred to her as his “favorite mistake.”
With Brown and Martinez (and Levine) out of the competition, this leaves Blake Shelton and Cee-Lo Green’s final two acts to make the top 4. Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott from Team Blake will battle each other and Nicholas David and Trevin Hunte from Team Cee-Lo in next week’s live semi-finals.
