Demi Lovato was left without a team on last night’s (December 6) live results show episode of the X Factor USA when two more singers were eliminated–one of them being her only remaining act.
CeCe Frey was finally sent home from the competition in the sudden death elimination round after scoring the lowest amount of votes this week. Her elimination comes as no surprise. CeCe has been a staple in the bottom two, having to sing for her life multiple times. Her brash personality and weak performances have been criticized by the judges and viewer, with Simon Cowell going as far as telling the singer she’s not worth the $5 million prize the winner would be awarded.
“Really, really gonna miss CeCe though.. Real talk,” Demi said of Frey on Twitter. “This girl was not only a star but a beautiful person inside and out. #reallybummed.”
Demi wasn’t the only mentor to lose a singer. Britney Spears‘ teen singer Diamond White was eliminated after a sing-off with Cowell’s group Fifth Harmony. This is actually Diamond’s second time being sent home from the competition. White was originally cut before votes were open to America in the first live results show. Before the top 12’s first performance show, Diamond was invited back to the competition to create the top 13.
“I’m thinking of Cher Lloyd right now. She came in fifth and look where she is,” says an optimistic Diamond after her elimination.
With the double elimination over, that just left the rankings reveal. After two weeks away, L.A. Reid‘s only remaining act, Tate Stevens, returns to No. 1. In at No. 2 is Spears’ teen and fan favorite Carly Rose Sonenclar. Cowell’s groups round out the top four with Emblem3 at…well, No. 3 and Fifth Harmony at No. 4.
The final four will perform in the semi-finals next week. They are:
Teens – Mentored by Britney Spears
- Carly Rose Sonenclar
Over 25s – Mentored by L.A. Reid
- Tate Stevens
Groups – Mentored by Simon Cowell
- Fifth Harmony
