Video: ‘X Factor USA’ Contestants Show Support For Newtown With “You Are Not Alone”

Carly Rose Sonenclar

X Factor USA started its season 2 finale with a touching tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting tonight (December 19). To show their support to Newtown, Connecticut, the small town where the tragedy took place, the contestants, joined by a children’s choir, performed Michael Jackson‘s “You Are Not Alone” as the names of the 27 victims appeared on the big screens behind them, followed by a message to Newtown: “You are not alone. We are here with you.”

Similarly, The Voice paid tribute to the victims with a beautiful rendition of “Hallelujah,” performed by the coaches — Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Cee-Lo Green — and the season 3 contestants. Watch the performance here.
