New Music: Justin Timberlake Returns With Jay-Z On “Suit And Tie”

At long last, Justin Timberlake is back! The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/actor teams with Jay-Z on the Timbaland-produced “Suit And Tie,” his first new single in over six years. “I be on my suit and tie sh*t…can I show you a few things?” JT sings at the start of the track, preparing listeners for the grown and sexy experience. From there, the track evolves into the smoothest of grooves, with JT singing, “As long as I got my suit and tie/I’ma leave it all on the floor tonight,” and Jigga chiming in over a chopped-and-screwed beat, “Time for tuxedos for no reason.”

JT announced his plans to return with a new album, his first since 2006’s acclaimed Futuresex/Lovesounds, in a video posted to his official website last week. He elaborated on his comeback plans in an open letter to fans, which also revealed the name of his highly-anticipated third album, The 20/20 Experience. “The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs,” he wrote. “It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process. What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I’ve discovered along the way.”

The 20/20 Experience is due later this year. Listen to the set’s first single, “Suit And Tie,” below:
