Frank Ocean is choosing forgiveness and has decided not to press charges against Chris Brown. The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter spoke out about his decision to peacefully resolve his issues with Brown, who he claims jumped him with a few other guys in the parking lot of a recording studio in Los Angeles last weekend. (Brown has said he did not start the fight with Ocean.)

“As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man,” Ocean wrote in a blog post. “But as a man I am not a killer. I’m an artist and a modern person. I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit.”

As the post continued, Ocean revealed that his enlightened position was a “difficult” stance to take. “Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom,” he wrote. “Peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace.”

Ocean has more positive things to focus on. He’s up for six awards at the 55th annual Grammy Awards on February 10, including Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Best New Artist. He has also been confirmed as one of the night’s performers.

  1. Off course brown is never at fault just like the time with Rihanna he has behaved it’s not his fault . Just like the time at GM America the chair flew out the window . Just like his numerous twitter rants its not his fault . Just like the fight in New York when people lost their jobs and the club was thrashed for millions it was not Chris Browns fault . Do you think this man could need some physciatrist help to deal with a problem before he does something really serious happens and again he claims its not his fault. I’d love to be his lawyer because it sure pays more than rent
