The media blitz for Chris Brown‘s new album, X, is underway. On the promo trail, Breezy stopped by On Air with Ryan Seacrest to talk all about his what’s going on in his life, musically and romantically.
Up first, Breezy discussed the vibe of his forthcoming sixth album, which includes the lead single, “Fine China.” “The kind of direction I wanted to go for this album was like the same base I went on the first album,” he said. “I had the kind of humble mind state of just going in the studio with any producer and any songwriter and try to make a great project. I kind of put the Quincy Jones formula on it.”
According to an interview Breezy did with MTV, the project already has a few collaborations, including Diplo and Kendrick Lamar, but Breezy is hard at work trying to land Jennifer Lopez, who he was recently photographed with in a studio, as a feature. “I’m trying to get her on my album,” he told Seacrest. “I have a couple songs that would be incredible for her to feature on, but as of now I’m just in the studio writing for hers.”
Of course, Breezy was asked about his rekindled relationship with Rihanna, whose forgiveness he said he is “eternally grateful” for. “I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident,” he said of how he earned RiRi’s forgiveness. “She’s a wonderful person and I’m eternally grateful.”
Breezy said the dynamic between he and RiRi is “like we’re still kids” and they keep their relationship “fun.” But serious business, like having kids of his own, is “in a part of my brain.” “Hopefully that’s in the future,” he said.
