American Idol Results: Drake Surprises Candice Glover, Top 4 Stays Intact

American Idol got down to the business of its weekly results show tonight, but not before giving one contestant the surprise of a lifetime.

Candice Glover came face to face with her idol, Drake, after host Ryan Seacrest duped her into believing Drizzy sent in an audio message, thanking her for performing his smash “Find Your Love” on Wednesday’s show.

An elated Glover couldn’t believe her eyes and could barely speak when the Grammy-winning rapper strolled onto the stage. She had nothing but adoring words once she was able to speak. “I am such a big fan,” Candice said. “Oh my God. I love you so much!”

Drizzy was a good distraction, but there were results to be revealed. Or were there? Ryan went about the business of separating the remaining four girls — Glover, Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, and Kree Harrison — into two groups. One was the bottom two, the other the top two. After revealing Candice and Amber were the bottom two, Ryan dropped a shocker. No one would be leaving the competition. Why? Because the producers tack on an additional week to the competition so that the judges can use their save. When the judges decided not to use it on any of the previous contestants, that made this week the save-by-default. Not exactly a shocker when you think about it.

The top 4 will take the stage again next week to perform two songs in a “then and now” theme.

  1. LOL yeah no results this time, which is weird since it was a ‘results show’. But I don’t mind since it means we’ll get to see the final four next week too, and how is that a bad thing? Contestants like these extremely talented women are the main reason American Idol is still one of the shows I always try to be at home for so I can catch it live and don’t see spoilers on social media sites first. I couldn’t make it home in time last night though; I worked a bit late at DISH and I was on the train ride home when it aired. Times like that are when I love DISH Anywhere; with it, I can stream all of my live TV channels and/or DVR recordings to my phone. Because of it, I was able to catch this show on the ride home, which is a great way to pass the time on an otherwise dull commute.
