X marks the spot this July. Chris Brown has announced plans to release his highly-anticipated sixth studio album, X, on July 16.
“The kind of direction I wanted to go for this album was like the same base I went on the first album,” Breezy said of the album in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. “I had the kind of humble mind state of just going in the studio with any producer and any songwriter and try to make a great project. I kind of put the Quincy Jones formula on it.”
The set, the follow-up to 2012’s Fortune, is led by the Michael Jackson-inspired jam “Fine China.” It will feature collaborations with Diplo, Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna.
Not making the X tracklist is a new song Breezy dropped late last night, a lovelorn cut titled “I Can’t Win.” On it, Breezy croons about being the fall guy in a relationship no matter how hard he tries to keep things together. Listen to the song below:
