There’s some good news and bad news for Drake fans today. The good news: the Grammy-winning rapper will be performing at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. According to MTV, Drizzy is set to perform his hit “Started From The Bottom,” the first single from his new album, Nothing Was The Same, on the show.
Drizzy joins previously announced performers Kanye West, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Justin Timberlake, all taking the stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 25 at 9pm.
The bad news: fans will have to wait a little longer to hear NWTS. Drizzy’s hotly anticipated third album has been pushed back a week from its original September 17 release date to September 24.
There’s no shortage of new Drake music to keep Team Drizzy occupied until NWTS is released. He’s released a slew of free music to his OVO Sound website and recently made a huge chart splash with his new single, “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”
