For the second time this year, Justin Timberlake is at the top of the charts. The Grammy-winning pop star’s The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2 lands at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart after selling 350,000 copies in its first week of release.
It’s an impressive opening for 2 of 2, but significantly less than its predecessor. And understandably so. Part one of The 20/20 Experience, JT’s “comeback” album, arriving seven years after the release of FutureSex/LoveSounds, sold an astonishing 968,000 copies in its debut week, earning the year’s biggest opening week sales sum so far.
Last week’s No. 1, Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same, is bumped to No. 2. NWTS, which earned the year’s second biggest debut sales week with 658,000 copies sold, added another 148,000 copies to its total.
Pop phenom Lorde‘s debut album, Pure Heroine, is off to a solid start at No. 3 with 129,000 copies sold in its first week.
